The Carolyn Stokes Preschool provides a nurturing, structured preschool experience that builds a foundation for each child’s academic, social, and physical development. The Preschool is licensed by the State of New Jersey and enrolled in the Grow New Jersey Kids program for high quality.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Carolyn Stokes Preschool is committed to an educational program for preschool children ages 3 to 5 based on fundamental principles of early childhood development. We believe that every child normally progresses through the same sequential stages in his or her emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development; however, the rate of maturation through these stages is unique to the individual child.
In the structure and implementation of our program, we respect the uniqueness and individuality of each child, and we recognize the importance of providing learning experiences that nurture and promote growth in all areas of the young child’s development.
FACILITY
Situated on 6½ acres, the original building, a mid-1800s farmhouse, was converted into offices on the first floor and a wing with four classrooms was added. In 2009 an additional classroom and a large all-purpose room were added. Each bright, spacious, and air-conditioned classroom has its own bathroom and opens onto a large playground.
The very large, hard-surface playground allows the children to ride tricycles and scooters. They play on the jungle gym or the swing set, make sand castles in the sand table, splash in the water table, or play any of the outdoor games that they enjoy so much. And it’s all in a wonderful country setting.
